About Weri
CONCEPT BACKGROUND
The word Weri is a combination of the English word weary, defined as; feeling or showing tiredness, and the Isoko word Uweri which loosely translates to; feeling sadness or loss. This five-piece series was completed in 2021 after spending the previous year observing socially constructive safety mandates against a backdrop of uncertainty and social-political unrest. Each piece in this series is about the contantnes of change and the psychological and emotional difficulties associated when a shift occurs.
